Cabs / Taxi secives in Kochi & Munnar

Called  taxis are available for hire throughout the day or as package for multiple days.  I would recommend you not to take the cab as package service but pay daily basis on the service you get.  The Km starts from Cochin Town & Ends in cochin  Town. That means you need to start from Kochi then go to Munnar, Thekaddy , Alleppy and then drop the car in  Kochi.  Generally, the cab would be  per day for  up to 150 kms . If you exceed km then you have to pay extra per kilometer including driver allowance, Toll, Parking & fuel. If you don’t exceed your total km then you per day pay includes driver allowance, Toll, Parking & fuel. Interstate Permit is excluded.

While booking the cab following questions can be clarified from the operator.

  1. Tell him the Trip details
  2. Price included driverbata + parking + Toll or not + Fuel Charge?
  3. A/C or Non A/C ?
  4. Rs Per Additional Km ?
  5. Polite + Hindi and English Speaking Driver + Name of the Driver ?
  6. If the car breaks down what will be the next step ?
  7. Interstate permit required ?
  8. Pay by cash or Credit card ?
  9. Wht will be the rate from Airport to Hotel only? (If you want to leave the cab in Munnar)

Public Transportation:

There are public transport buses leaving at regular intervals to Aluva(Alwaye) and Angamaly(Ankamaly) KSRTC bus stations. Fare is about Rs. 232.

You can get the buses from the following places:

  1. Take a taxi upto Perumbavoor and take a bus from there to Munnar. Fare is Rs. 232
  2. Let the taxi run upto Kothanmangalam — more buses from there (More Distance) Fare is Rs.  535.
  3. KSRTC bus departure from Cochin Central Bus Stand to Munnar,so many private bus also you get. KSRTC Central bus station 0484-2372033

From Munnar to Alleppy you dont get direct bus,all Thiruvananthapuram bus stops Alleppy. First bus starts 0840 hrs via Alappuzha.You have to check latest timings. KSRTC MUNNAR NUMBER 486-2530201
